greenMRT Manifesto

  1. greenMRT® is an internal formation that has been implemented to minimize the environmental impacts of production in our quarries and to create a discipline for the most efficient use of natural resources.
  2. With the 2.5 MW solar field renewable energy facility, which was commissioned in March 2024, MRT not only produces the electricity it needs in light of its circular economy vision, but also provides the excess production to Türkiye.
  3. With the solar energy field project, MRT aims to make its excavators consume electricity by developing an electric excavator project that can produce its own electricity.
  4. MRT regularly monitors the matrix reports of all its machines and ensures that its machines operate with the best possible energy efficiency.
  5. With its fully-equipped maintenance center, MRT repairs and provides regular maintenance to all its machines in an environmentally friendly way, minimizing contact with nature. All waste oils are collected regularly to ensure that no machine waste enters the environment.
  6. MRT does not use any chemicals in its production.
  7. MRT regularly conducts sound and dust measurements in its quarries and reduces their impact on the environment by constantly monitoring the results.
  8. MRT carries out 100% organic farming in its quarries in a way that meets certain minimum needs of each quarry and aims to reduce the need for imported food for its quarry.
  9. MRT has rainwater collection analysis carried out in each of its quarries and develops projects to collect rainwater in its quarries where suitable conditions can be created.
  10. MRT visibly afforestes and greens the surroundings of its quarries and especially its construction sites, which are living spaces.
  11. MRT recycles all inputs it uses, including iron, steel, aluminum and copper, when their useful life expires.
  12. MRT collects all plastic water bottles used in the quarries and sends them for recycling.
  13. MRT also gives importance to upcycling.MRT recycles the oil barrels used in its quarries and also upcycles some of them. By making armchairs, coffee tables and shelves from used barrels and continuing to use them within the business, it limits the carbon emissions that re-emerge in recycling.
  1. No disposable products such as plastic cups, forks, knives and plates are used in MRT mines and all work areas.
  2. MRT continues to work on its project to produce secondary plastic parts of the machines itself with a 3D printer using recycled plastic, for which it aims to start pilot applications soon.
  3. MRT provides marble residues as filling material for construction and infrastructure projects and has adopted a zero waste policy by turning all remaining marble residues into gravel and making them available for use in the economy. Thus, it brings its wastes, which cannot be used in its own sector, into the sustainable circular economy.
  4. MRT carries out waste management by using full-fledged high technology clean-up systems in all its quarries and does not release any solid, liquid and organic waste into the nature.
  5. MRT provides all its interior and exterior lighting with LED lamps and minimize energy consumption.
